What you’ll do

  • Own SEO end-to-end for a small portfolio: technical, on-page, off-page, and content/link strategy.
  • Run focused audits (crawlability, indexation, CWV, structured data) and turn them into pragmatic roadmaps aligned with stakeholders.
  • Lead keyword research & content architecture (clusters, SERP analysis, topical authority) tied to business goals.
  • Report what matters (GSC, GA4, Looker Studio): insights → actions → outcomes (not just charts).
  • Collaborate with content/design/dev to ship fixes and content (WordPress, Webflow, Shopify).
  • Monitor competitors and propose monthly/quarterly growth bets with clear impact/effort trade-offs.

 

What you’ll bring

  • 2–4 years hands-on SEO with a balanced technical & content skill set.
  • Confidence with Ahrefs/SEMrush, Screaming Frog/Sitebulb, GSC/GA4.
  • Solid grasp of HTML/CSS fundamentals and schema markup best practices.
  • Strong prioritization, attention to detail, and client-ready communication.
  • Nice to have: Shopify SEO, international SEO (hreflang/geo), Looker Studio automations.

Success in your first 90 days

30 days – Onboard & stabilize

  • Co-pilot 1–2 accounts; map goals, context, constraints.
  • Light tech/content audits → prioritized backlog (impact vs effort).
  • Confirm tracking health (GSC/GA4), set cadence (weekly update + monthly report).
  • Ship 3–5 quick wins across your portfolio.
  • Contribute one reusable asset (e.g., audit checklist, Looker template, SOP).

 

60 days – Lead & ship

  • Take primary ownership of 2–3 accounts with agreed quarterly roadmaps.
  • Launch one content initiative or one technical batch per owned account.
  • Improve leading indicators on priority pages/templates (e.g., CWV pass rate, index coverage, CTR).
  • Keep delivery reliable: on-time tasks ≥90%; weekly status & monthly report sent.
  • Support one pre-sales mini-audit or expansion proposal.

 

90 days – Prove momentum & scale

  • Show early lift on leading indicators and a positive non-brand click trendline vs baseline (where applicable).
  • Present a short internal case: learnings, next bets, risks.
  • Identify two growth opportunities per account and align owners/timelines.
  • Ship one automation or SOP that speeds the team (e.g., QA checklist, dashboard).
  • Start light mentoring/pairing with a junior or cross-function collaborator.

 

Targets depend on account baselines; we judge momentum, quality, and shipped impact—not arbitrary % goals in month 1–3.

How we work

Small-team pace with real ownership: pods, weekly stand-ups, monthly 1:1s (Personal Dialogues), OKRs for focus, and a steady but lightweight experimentation cadence.

Interview process (simple & respectful of your time)

  • Intro call (45–60 min, online) — Meet a hiring owner/lead. Quick fit & skills chat; we align expectations, range, and timelines.
  • Assignment — ~3–4 hours of work; you have up to 5 business days to submit. We assess reasoning, prioritization, and clarity (not polished slides).
  • Deep-dive interview (45–60 min, online) — Walk through the assignment, discuss thought process and past work, Q&A both ways.
  • Decision & feedback — Written update within 10 business days after the deep-dive.
